JoAnn C. Stonier serves as the Fellow of Data & Artificial Intelligence for Mastercard as a leading expert in both disciplines and assists the organization’s innovation, policy, and risk efforts. JoAnn has been instrumental in designing and operationalizing Mastercard’s global data business, first as the firm’s first privacy officer, then as the first chief data officer and now as the first fellow. JoAnn is a global data expert and strategist with extensive experience overseeing the curation, quality, ethical use, governance, strategy, and management of Mastercard’s global data assets. She is an expert in artificial intelligence with a keen interest in ethics, data equity, minimization of bias and ensuring fair analytic outcomes, especially as generative artificial intelligence, and other technologies increase.

JoAnn is a highly sought-after thought leader and speaker in emergent data, AI, and privacy issues. She has advised industry executives, governments, intergovernmental organizations, and NGOs (nongovernmental organizations). Currently, she serves as the Chair of the USCIB’s Digital Policy Committee and is Co- Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Data Policy and Equity. She also teaches at Carnegie Mellon University and is an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute. She has been appointed as an Advisor to several organizations including: Omnicom Group/Credera’s AI Council, Cantellus Group and Elementum and she serves on the board of directors for Hope for the Warriors and the Academy of Mount St. Ursula.

Dr. Ozanan R. Meireles serves as the inaugural Vice Chairman of Innovation at Duke University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery and the Surgical Director of Duke AI Health. He specializes in minimally invasive and endoluminal surgery and leads the Surgical AI and Innovation Laboratory (SAIIL). His collaborative work through SAIIL with prestigious institutions like MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital, the University of Cologne, and Duke Health is central to pioneering advancements in AI-enhanced surgery, aiming for its integration into surgical practices imminently. Dr. Meireles earned his medical degree from São Paulo State University in Brazil, completed surgical training at Michigan State University, and pursued a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins University focusing on NOTES (natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery), robotics, and augmented reality in surgery. He further specialized in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. After dedicating 13 years to Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School as a bariatric and foregut surgeon and the Director of SAIIL-MGH, Dr. Meireles joined Duke University in January 2024. His research is devoted to leveraging artificial intelligence, including computer vision and foundational models, to improve operational efficiency, enhance surgical outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and democratize surgical knowledge. He has made significant contributions to the development and application of minimally invasive techniques in gastrointestinal surgery. Nationally recognized, Dr. Meireles has chaired the SAGES Artificial Intelligence Task Force Committee and led international efforts to establish standards for the sustainability and scalability of surgical AI.

Dame Wendy was co-Chair of the UK government’s AI Review, which was published in October 2017 and a member of the AI Council. She is currently the co-Chair of the ACM Publications Board and Editor-in-Chief of Royal Society Open Science. She is an advisor to the UK government and many other governments and companies around the world and in 2023 was appointed to the United Nations high-level advisory body on artificial intelligence. Her latest book, Four Internets, co-written with Kieron O’Hara, was published by OUP in 2021.

Eager to explore new avenues within the technology sector, Duha transitioned to market development at ictQATAR, where she played a pivotal role in fostering innovation and growth in Qatar’s digital ecosystem. Her dedication and strategic vision led to her involvement in the establishment of Qatar’s first incubation center for digital entrepreneurship in 2011 under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.

While managing the digital incubation center, Duha pursued further education, undertaking a study at Qatar University from 2015 to 2017. During this time, she expanded her knowledge and expertise in the field of digital entrepreneurship, laying the groundwork for her future endeavors.

In 2017, Duha graduated with an MBA, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship, further solidifying her credentials as a leader in the digital space. Armed with a robust academic background and years of hands-on experience, she continued to make significant strides in Qatar’s technology sector.

In 2022, Duha’s exemplary track record and dedication to advancing digital competencies earned her the esteemed position of Director of the Digital Society and Digital Competencies Department at MCIT. Indica has over 25 years of professional experience, transitioning from the pharmaceutical to the technology industry. He has worked in both private and public sectors of the technology industry for the last 20 years. A business and marketing professional, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Management, UK, holding an MBA and certification as a lean startup coach.

He was part of the team that launched Sri Lanka’s first eCommerce company and worked with Microsoft Sri Lanka before moving to Qatar in 2008. There, he led the marketing for a system integrator and launched Qatar’s first Apple reseller store. His last role was with Qatar’s Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, where he contributed to national programs focused on technology, SME Digital Transformation, and entrepreneurship, including leading a government tech incubator. He currently works for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which organized the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Dr. June Park is a South Korean political economist working on geopolitical risk and the geoeconomics of emerging tech, observing East Asia, the U.S., Europe and the Gulf.
