Qatar 2025
Summit Highlights

World Summit AI Qatar 2025 has now concluded, marking two exceptional days of thought leadership, innovation and collaboration at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Center. Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, State of Qatar, the summit brought together innovators, policymakers, researchers and business leaders from across the globe to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping economies, industries and society.

Shaping The Future Of AI

This year’s summit centred on the responsible development and deployment of AI, addressing critical topics such as AI readiness, ethical frameworks, talent development and cybersecurity. Discussions highlighted the growing gap between ambition and implementation, with many organisations still navigating how to scale AI safely and effectively.

Here are some key highlights from the summit:

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has formalized a strategic partnership with leading hyperscalers

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has formalized a strategic partnership with leading hyperscalers such as Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Scale AI, Malomatia, and Accenture, to launch GovAI, a national initiative designed to accelerate and scale the adoption of artificial intelligence across Qatar. This collaboration strengthens the country’s digital ecosystem and ensures wider, deeper impact of AI solutions across all sectors in support of Qatar’s long-term vision.

The launch of Fanar 2.0

The launch of Fanar 2.0, the enhanced Arabic generative AI platform from Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), has been officially launched as a flagship milestone in the country’s AI journey. Positioned at the heart of Qatar’s sovereign AI strategy, Fanar 2.0 builds on the foundations of the original Fanar platform to deliver a far more powerful, multimodal Arabic large language model designed specifically around the region’s linguistic diversity, cultural context, and data sovereignty priorities. Developed in partnership with national research and innovation stakeholders, the new release underscores MCIT’s commitment to advancing Arabic-language AI, strengthening digital capabilities across government and industry, and ensuring that future AI systems for the Arab world are developed by and for the region.

The Health Tech Hackathon in partnership with Qatar University

The Health Tech Hackathon in partnership with Qatar University was the perfect way to close out the two days. 10 teams pitched to a prestigious group of judges from the region. 6 teams took home cash prizes to scale their innovative product or solution. We look forward to seeing how these companies grow over the next year.

Gala Dinner At the Ritz

The summit’s culmination was a stunning gala dinner at the Ritz, where over 100 distinguished guests, including industry leaders, policymakers, and academics, gathered for an evening of networking, celebration, and reflection. The elegant setting was the perfect backdrop for fostering meaningful connections.
